Fashion designers Laura Carrillo, Cristina Laurenco, and Manuel Forte
, from the Boyfriend’s Shirt clothing line have just presented their 2019 Spring/Summer collection at the Rio 54 gallery as part of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Mexico City .
Each of the pieces was inspired by the “preppers” community, a group of people that prepare for any kind of biological or human catastrophe.
Featuring trench coats, pants, shirts, shorts, and jackets made of cotton, linen, and synthetic water repellent fabrics , the group of designers presented their proposal for the next season.
In an interview with EL UNIVERSAL , Manuel Forte stated that the fabrics they used could be used for any occasion, since the team made sure “that each of the pieces was made of anti-wrinkle materials.”
With an innovating style that characterizes Boyfriend’s Shirt, the collection featured asymmetrical cuts and unusual necklines , as well as striped patterns and straight fabrics in colors such as white, black, beige, blue, and pistachio green .
The designers proposed a beauty look made up of well-hydrated lips and skin, accentuating the models’ eyes with subtle shades of pink to evoke the tiredness of a survivor .
