Popocatépetl Volcano spews 138 low-intensity exhalations

According to the report issued by the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), the monitoring system of Popocatépetl Volcano registered 138 low-intensity exhalations in the last 24 hours.

In addition, two explosions were recorded yesterday at 1:48 and 2:05 pm. Ash columns reached heights between 1500 m and 1200 m. Ash emissions were heading towards the west.

No reports of ash fall in nearby communities have been reported.

During the night, incandescence was observed over the crater.

At the time of this report, continuous steam and gas emissions were observed.
