The Human Rights Commission of Mexico City is investigating a presumed violation to the right of a healthy environment in the case of Bantú the gorilla, who died last Thursday at the metropolitan zoo of Chapultepec.
The investigation will focus on the Department of Environment of Mexico City, for the presumed negligence in the protection and conservation of endangered species.
The Commission also requested that independent personnel participate in the forensic investigation of the death of the gorilla, the only male of its species in Mexico.
