Mexican conglomerate Grupo Carso, controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim, said it reached an agreement with Spanish builder FCC to work together on projects in the Americas, but not in Mexico.
Neither Carso nor FCC gave the finiancial details of the agreement.
In December Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim acquired the subscription rights in Spanish builder from top shareholder Esther Koplowitz for 150 million euros (US$184.50 million).
Control Empresarial de Capitales, owned by Slim, bought 63.7 million preferential subscription rights from Koplowitz investor vehicles B-1998 and Azate for 2.3553 euros per right, FCC said at the time.
As a consequence, Koplowitz lost control over the building group as Inmobiliaria Carso took a 25.63 percent stake in the company following a capital increase.
Koplowitz saw her stake reduced to 22.43 percent, from just above 50 percent before the deal.
