Mexico’s Navy Ministry ( SEMAR ) has opened 10 “ Voluntary Isolation Mobile Centers” with a capacity to shelter 4,000 people infected with COVID-19 and who have mild symptoms and request attention at the centers.
The centers are located in Mexico City, Guerrero , Jalisco , Michoacán , Sinaloa , Tamaulipas , and Veracruz .
They will start operating once Mexico enters the third stage of its contingency plan; according to Dr. Hugo López-Gatell, this could take place in two weeks.
The isolation centers will provide medical attention , shelter, food, and showers.

Once a person enters the isolation center, navy officials will welcome them with hygiene products and surgical clothes.
According to the SEMAR , each center will be operated by 12 doctors and 14 nurses, as well as food, maintenance, communications, logistics, sanitization, and security staff.
The requisites to stay at the isolation centers are the following:
1. Being diagnosed with COVID-19 and have mild symptoms
2. Personally request to be interned at the center
3. Be between 18 and 45
4. Not having a safe place to isolate
Patients
can stay at the centers for up to 14 days and can leave the facility when they decide to.
