The Day of the Dead celebrations have generated a sales increase in different categories, particularly for products such as candy, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages , according to the Shopper Experience Observatory (OSE) through a study conducted by in-Store Media Mexico .
Specialized in shopper marketing, the firm pointed out that 79% of Mexicans purchase candy, 46% consume salty snacks, 46% purchases non-alcoholic beverages such as juices and sodas, while 44% consumes bread and cookies .
Some of the festivities that have the greatest influence on national sales are the Day of the Dead, Mother’s Day, and the National Independence Day , though only 4% of Mexicans claim to have prepared savings for the purchase of seasonal products.
The marketing director of in-Store Media Mexico, Felipe Gómez , claimed that “the Day of the Dead has become popular both in Mexico and at an international scale. The fact that around 2 million people attended the Day of the Dead parade this year is proof of that fact.”
