The remnants of Tropical Storm Danielle are dissipating after bringing heavy rains but little reported significant damage in east-central Mexico.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Tuesday that Danielle weakened quickly after making landfall about 10 miles (15 kilometers) north of the port of Tuxpan.
By early Tuesday, the storm's maximum sustained winds were down to about 25 mph (35 kph) and it was centered roughly 60 miles (100 kilometers) north of Mexico City.
The storm's winds peaked at about 45 mph (75 kph) around midday Monday.
The storm flooded streets and the Veracruz state government cancelled many classes as a precautionary measure.
There were no immediate reports of significant damage.
