The V World Forum of Mexican Cuisine will take place from October 5 to 8 at the National Center of Arts ( Centro Nacional de las Artes abbreviated CENART ) in Coyoacán borough in the southern edge of Mexico City .
This year, the Forum is dedicated to Mexican Cuisine in North America seeking to link gastronomic communitie s in the region whose ownership is in the hands of compatriots on both sides of the border.
The program includes business meetings between Mexican , American and Canadian producers, restaurateurs, hoteliers, and entrepreneurs in order to promote Mexican products.
Training courses on the creation of gastronomic micro-enterprises will be part of this year's edition to boost the development of traditional cooks and regional cuisines .
For the first time in the World Forum of Mexican Cuisine, the 2017 Mexican Gastronomy Merit Award will be granted.
More than 50 specialists will give lectures on astronomy, and among them will be Mexican chefs Enrique Olvera , Margarita Carrillo Arronte , and Pati Jinich ; Carlos González Gutiérrez , Consul of Mexico in Austin, Texas , and Javier Gonzalez Vizcaino , Director of Culinary Art School in Tijuana, Baja California, among other relevant figures.

Moreover, there will have 22 guest chefs from Canada and the United States in both the academic and gastronomic program.
As in the previous editions, chefs and cooks prepare traditional dishes and drinks with iconic Mexican products such as tomatoes, avocados and a huge variety of peppers.
Among the activities, there will be several exhibitions featuring dining destinations in Mexico, small producers, and arts and crafts.
The Fifth World Forum of Mexican Gastronomy will be held from October 5 to 8 at the CENART in Coyoacán borough.
