Spring

starts today! The Spring equinox is the time when day and night both last 12 hours. The term equinox comes from the Latin word equinoxium , which means "equality between day and night."

The phenomenon occurs when the center of the sun is directly above the Earth's equator . In Mexico , the spring equinox will take place at 9:50 p.m.

According to Daniel Flores Gutiérrez, an academic at the Astronomy Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), “Knowing the moment in which these astronomical events take place makes us think of the achievements of the human intellect from the observation and the understanding of how and why natural phenomenons occur.”



This allows us to verify the theories on the activity of the Sun, the Moon, and the eight planets in the Solar System, as said the UNAM.
