Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mexico , His Excellency Eduard Rubenovich Malayan , has announced he will return to his country and said his farewells to Mexico with a meeting between diplomats and politicians, celebrating Russia's National Day and the opening of the 2018 FIFA World Cup .
“I want to thank you for the cooperation and mutual understanding you showed throughout these years, to the Mexican people, and to the employees of this embassy, thank you for the teamwork,” said the Ambassador, addressing the Mexican authorities who attended the event.
President of the Mexican Senate, Ernesto Cordero , thanked His Excellency for the work performed jointly with the Upper Chamber to achieve an outstanding bilateral relationship in matters of culture and economy.
“We have 50,000 Mexicans over there, please take care of them for me. They can be a handful but they are peaceful. Let's hope the teams achieve good results and everyone stays safe,” said Cordero, referring to the World Cup currently being held in Russia.
Agustín García-López Loaeza, executive manager of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation ( AMEXCID ), attended the event on behalf of Mexican Chancellor Luis Videgaray Caso.
“Since I arrived here, a year ago as a representative of this agency, I was asked if I knew the most popular Ambassador to Mexico and it was Eduard, because he has an extraordinary friendship with Mexican authorities and not just them but the Mexican people as well, with the society of intellectuals.”
