Rafael Caro Quintero tries to prevent his extradition to the U.S.

In his request, Caro Quintero claims he doesn’t have money and that he can’t work because he is considered a fugitive . He also argues he is “over 60 years old, he doesn’t have a pension and he isn’t retired (…) he is prevented from working or performing an activity to acquire resources.”

The U.S. government offers USD 20 million for information that leads to the arrest of the Mexican drug lord .

was imprisoned in federal prison for 28 years but he was released after a federal tribunal granted him an amparo in August 2013.

The decision was revoked by the Supreme Court in November 2013. In 2015, a Guadalajara tribunal took legal actions against Caro Quintero and Ernesto Fonseca , aka “Don Neto,” for the kidnapping and homicide of DEA agent “Kiki” Camarena and Mexican pilot Alfredo Zavala Avelar .

Authorities issued an arrest warrant against the criminal so they fulfill a 12-year prison sentence; meanwhile, “Don Neto” is under house arrest.
