During the Day of the Dead, Mixquic dresses up to celebrate: The pebble streets, houses, and graves are decorated to receive the souls of those who have passed as they visit us during the holiday .
Following tradition, illuminated paper stars, candles, and light-bulbs are placed to guide the dead on November 2 . Furthermore, the traditional Day of the Dead altars are decorated with cempasúchil flowers, food, the deceased’s favorite beverage, and several of their personal objects.
