Alhough South Korea’s National Soccer Team started off with the right foot in terms of attack, with a few close calls for Guillermo Ochoa , the goalkeeper from Mexico’s National Team who was justly praised for his performance at last week’s game against Germany, Carlos Vela scored a penalty goal in the first half of the match.
Korea performed well, with a strategy of kickbacks while focusing on their defense. Several fouls were seen during the game, and the Asian team seemed desperate at times.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernández
, star player from Mexico’s National Team scored another goal with a powerful kick during the second half of the match, becoming the third Mexican player in scoring a goal at three different World Cups (2010,2014, and 2018) .
On the 90th minute , Son Heung-Min made a brilliant move, scoring a goal for the Korean team.
The final score was 2-1, and Mexico will move on to face Sweden on Wednesday at 9:00 am local time.
