Mexico will award its parathletes with MXN $58 million

The athletes who represented Mexico at the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games will receive MXN $58.1 million from the federal government . The amount was calculated by EL UNIVERSAL , based on the promise made by President López Obrador .

The President vowed to grant the 184 athletes and 36 coaches an economic incentive and also said that those who obtained a medal would receive an additional incentive.

In previous weeks, the President announced his government would give MXN $134 million to the athletes who presented Mexico in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games .

The incentives for the athletes will be paid using the money seized from criminal organizations .

According to President López Obrador , the government will award MXN $222 million to the athletes but the auctions haven't been as successful to obtain all the resources.
