If for some reason you still have a tazos collection from when you were a child, now is the time to use it. Mexico will celebrate its first National Tazos Tournament in 2018 , with prizes of up to 50,000 pesos .
Organized by Nomadax , in the framework of the 75th anniversary of Sabritas , a company that has put these toys on sale through their bags of chips since 1994 , the tournament will feature five qualifying rounds in different cities and a final match.
“Due to their importance in popular culture, we have designed the first National Tazos Tournament to keep promoting our company’s great history within the Mexican market,” Nomadx mentioned through their website.
The tournament’s first stage was held last Saturday in Mexico City, where Alejandro Lazarini won his place in the finals, which will happen on October 6 in the city of Monterrey .
The rest of the tryouts will be held in Mérida on September 8 ; September 22 in Guadalajara ; September 29 in Tijuana , and finally in Monterrey , the same day of the final match.
Although inscriptions are free, in order to participate, contestants must have a ticket to access the Nomadx Tour Sabritas 75 Festival and be older than 13 .
The event will also feature conferences, workshops, and concerts by music bands such as El Gran Silencio, Sussie 4, Daniel Bautista, Comisario Pantera , and many more.
