beat its Japanese counterpart 4-2 in the first of two matches of the Eneos Samurai Japan Series 2019 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan .

was the winning pitcher, with a save by Jake Sánchez . Japan came ahead 1-0 during the first inning, after Yoshida made a hit in one turn, allowing Uebayashi to reach the home plate. The Japanese players scored 2-0 at the fourth inning , with a hit from Kai.
It wasn’t until the sixth inning that the Mexican players started leveling the score with a hit from Luis Juárez that allowed Víctor Mendoza to reach the home plate for a score of 2-1.
However, in the seventh inning, Mexico turned the score board around (3-2) with two runs, shocking audiences at the Kyocera Dome.
During the eight inning, Mexico reached a final score of 4-2 thanks to Joey Menesés , who was pushed to the plate by an unstoppable hit by Luis “Cochito” Cruz .
This Sunday will be the second and final match at the Eneos Samurai Japan Series 2019 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka.
Mexico’s participation in the Japanese competition is endorsed by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) . The Eneos Samurai Japan Series will allow Mexico to rise in the international ranking.
The Mexican team ranks sixth at the global scale, while Japan has the number one team.
