Mexican President AMLO named Global Ambassador of Baseball

will now be the new Global Ambassador of Baseball in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) , though he will be represented by Ana Gabriela Guevara, head of the National Sports Commission (CONADE) .

Yesterday, President López Obrador uploaded a video on his Twitter account showing a private meeting with Riccardo Fraccari, chairman of the WBSC .

“We will defend this sport, and we will accept the role that has been assigned to us. I will be the global ambassador of baseball, and ‘Anita’ (Ana Gabriela Guevara) will act as my representative because I don’t travel much,” said the President between laughs.

Fraccari also gave him a Federation medal and showed him the trophy that will be given to one of the 12 countries participating in the Pre-Olympic tournament that will be held in Guadalajara, Jalisco this year .

President López Obrador expressed his admiration for Mexico’s National Baseball Team and wished them luck in the competition.

The meeting took place at the president’s office in Mexico’s National Palace .
