Alejandra Frausto, future Minister of Culture
, claimed that preparations had been made so that a section of Los Pinos corresponding to the House of Miguel Alemán is made open to the public on December 1 , when Andrés Manuel López Obrador takes office as president of Mexico .
In an interview with news outlets, Frausto explained that a large section would be open for the public, though there was still no consensus on which specific parts would be prepared for public view. “However, progress has been made and we already have a general idea of which spaces and lanes will be open on Dec. 1,” she stated.
Upon exiting Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s transition house , she explained that the House of Miguel Alemán would be one of the areas to be made public.
López Obrador’s transition team has invited the general public to visit the official residency of Los Pinos on December 1 , which will be open from 10:00 AM this Saturday , just as was promised during the presidential campaign.
As part of the inauguration, the incoming Ministry of Culture indicated that the entrance will be on door number one , located at the Lira Park , and door number 3, from the Chapultepec Park .
Later on, it was confirmed that the houses of Miguel Alemán, López Mateos, Miguel de la Madrid, Venustiano Carranza, and Lázaro Cárdenas would be open for the general public.
The program will feature several concerts of music groups, such as the Carlos Chávez orchestra, at the Francisco I. Madero esplanade . Screens will also be installed at the “La Hondonada” garden to follow the presidential inauguration of Andrés Manuel López Obrador live, as well as a Cultural Celebration to commemorate the beginning of the so-called Fourth Transformation at the city’s Zócalo .
