Leader of Tepito Union criminal gang captured in Mexico City

In a joint operation between the Ministry of the Navy (SEMAR) and the Federal Police , authorities were able to capture David “N,” also known as “El Pistache,” the alleged successor of José Alberto Maldonado, also known as Roberto Mollado Esparza “El Betito,” who was head of the Tepito Union criminal gang .

According to police reports, “El Pistache” was arrested at the High Park building in the Santa Fe financial district of Mexico City .

Another raid in the Narvarte neighborhood led to an exchange of gunfire and the arrest of 6 people who were allegedly part of the criminal operation.

Another operation was conducted near the State of Mexico , where federal authorities seized high-caliber weapons, cash, and several types of drugs , all of which belongs to the so-called Cartel of Tepito .

According to the Ministry investigation , David “N” was accused of murdering several rivals from the Anti Union Force, led by Sergio “N,” also known as “El Tortas,” and leaving their bodies in public places with messages addressed to his competitors. The suspect is also accused of drug trafficking and extortion .

The head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) , Omar García Harfuch , informed that “El Pistache” was also involved in human trafficking and prostitution in the neighborhoods of Polanco, Condesa, Roma, and Juárez , as well as the Cuauhtémoc delegation, and even in Ciudad Satélite.

“This constitutes a sharp blow to a criminal group that has been responsible for several violent acts in Mexico City and its surroundings,” claimed the statesman.
