Only twelve days after an 8.2-magnitude earthquake hit Mexico minutes before midnight on Thursday, September 7 , a 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Mexico on Tuesday, September 19 .
The epicenter was located just 120km from Mexico City in the limits between neighboring states of Puebla and Morelos hitting the country on the 32nd anniversary of the 1985 earthquake which caused over 10,000 deaths as well as extensive material losses and damage in Mexico City.
In a statement, Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma , a major brewery in Mexico and a subsidiary of Heineken International explained that "the effort will be carried out in coordination with the National Civil Protection System , who will ensure that the water donated by Heineken Mexico is delivered in a timely manner during the crisis."
The distribution began last week in Oaxaca and it will continue to Mexico City , and in the coming days to the states of Puebla , Morelos and the State of Mexico .
On Twitter, the company shared some pictures under the caption in Spanish: "More help is arriving in Oaxaca and Morelos! We delivered around 50 thousand cans of water."
"In addition to the water supply, Heineken Mexico has made available its Distribution Centers in Guerrero , Toluca , Querétaro, and Morelos to serve as collection centers operating from 7 am to 8 pm. Non-perishable food, clothing, blankets, personal hygiene items, batteries, diapers, and medicines, are being received.
