Prior to the second round of renegotiations of the North American Free Trade Agreement ( NAFTA ), the Secretary of Foreign Affairs , Luis Videgaray , and the Secretary of Economy , Ildefonso Guajardo , will travel to Washington to meet with their counterparts on August 29 and 30 .

´s Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( SRE ) announced that the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary of Economy are meeting with Rex Tillerson , current United States Secretary of State , and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster , to review a series of topics on the bilateral agenda and "recent developments."
The trade issue will also be present, which will be addressed a few days after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to end NAFTA, since Secretaries Videgaray and Guajardo will meet with Wilbur Ross , Secretary of Commerce , Robert Lighthizer , United States Trade Representative and Jared Kushner , Senior White House adviser to review specific issues in the trade relationship between the two countries, as well.
Moreover, Secretary Videgaray will meet with Luis Alberto Moreno , President of the Inter-American Development Bank ( IDB ) to reinforce bilateral collaboration in the different regional issues.
