"Frida libre", a musical homage to Frida Kahlo

The musical monologue "Free Frida" (Frida libre) , will premiere at The Trail Theater in Miami, Florida , on August 23 , to pay homage to Frida Kahlo.

It's interpreted by Flora Martinez, who became famous after starring in "Rosario Tijeras" , a telenovela.

The actress , who s peaks English, French and Spanish , has traveled a lot with this musical and says she has always admired Frida Kahlo's work.

Under the direction of Jose Reinoso , and with dialogues written by Tomás Urtusástegui , which contains both biographical information and fiction , which tries to portray Kahlo's vision.

Through "Frida Libre" , the public will be able to witnes s Kahlo's tragedies, success, her untameable spirit and her passionate lovers.

The musical has been presented in Colombia and Canada . For the remainder of the year, the show will travel to Germany, Central America, and Mexico.
