Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix
was recognized as the best sports experience in the Leaders Sports Awards 2019 , which recognize the work of companies, events, and individuals that constantly innovate to improve the fans’ experience of the industry of sports events .
The celebration, experienced in Mexico City since five years ago, triumphed in the “Best Live Experience” category.
The Mexican race competed against other outstanding sports experiences such as the 2018 US Open, the D rone Racing League at BMW Welt, the Pool Deck at Gabba Stadium, and the Overwatch League Grand Finals .
Nevertheless, the judges recognized Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix for its creativity and quality in the podium celebration , which included a live set of DJ Armin Van Buuren for over 30,000 fans and offered all of them a unique high-level experience.
“Each year, we give our best to offer all participants in our event a memorable experience that also praises Mexico’s name. Receiving this prize is ‘Best Live Experience’ represents a great satisfaction to our labor as organizers; undoubtedly, this encourages us to keep working to offer Mexican fans the best F1 fiesta ,” asserted Federico González Compeán, CEO of Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix.
González Compeán went to London to receive the award during the ceremony that took place on October 9 in the Natural History Museum of the English capital.
This achievement adds to other successes reached previously by the Mexican GP, such as the four recognitions in a row as “Best Event of the Year” and the awards as “Promoter of the Year” received during the FIA Americas Awards .
