The Assouline publishing house has just launched a book with 165 photographs taken by Carlos Somonte during the making of 'Roma' by Alfonso Cuarón .
The 172-page book is based on the cinematography of Cuarón himself , who also participated in this edition alongside Somonte, a well-known photographer who specializes on rock music and cinema . Somonte has participated in world-class advertising campaigns and museum expos in Europe, Australia, China, the United States and, of course, Mexico .
Both the photography professor from the Autonomous University of Cuernavaca and the critically acclaimed filmmaker have presented these photos in several expos around the world.
The luxury edition hardcover book was put on sale on December 2018 . In the prologue, the Mexican writer Valeria Luiselli praised the film: “There is something about Roma—it produces a reverberation, it lingers inside you, way after the movie has ended.”
