Academy Awards to be broadcast in Mexico City’s Roma neighborhood

The head of the Ministry of Culture of Mexico City, José Alfonso Suárez del Real y Aguilera , hinted that various activities were being prepared in the Roma neighborhood as part of the Oscar awards ceremony, in which Alfonso Cuarón’s latest film ‘Roma’ received 10 nominations .

In a press conference, he commented that the film will be screened on February 24 at 4:00 PM in the Rio de Janeiro square , and at 6:00 PM , there will be a live broadcast of the Academy Awards ceremony.

The celebration will begin on February 9 with a photography exhibition. On February 17, there will be a guided tour in the "Roma de Cuarón," featuring Suárez del Real y Aguilera himself as the tour guide. On the same day, the Esperanza Azteca Orchestra will also offer a concert.

The official hopes that ‘Roma’ will win most of the awards, so they have prepared a celebration at the Angel of Independence , on Reforma Avenue.
