The Mexican low-cost airline, Interjet, started operations of the first daily direct flights between Mexico City and Las Vegas last Thursday with a weekly availability of 2,100 seats.
“Our new direct flight will offer travelers more and better options to enjoy the entertainment and leisure offered by one of the most popular destinations for Mexicans”, said Andrés Martínez Reynoso, Marketing Director of Interjet.
Interjet currently operates two daily direct flights from Mexican capital cities of Guadalajara, Jalisco, and Monterrey, Nuevo León to Las Vegas.
Cathy Tull, Sr. Vice President of Marketing for Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) noted that Mexico is the second most important international visitor’s resource for their city: “The addition of these flights positions Las Vegas as a prime destination and increases the growth potential of visitors coming from Mexico and neighboring locations”.
For her part, Rosemary Vassiliadis, Director of Aviation at McCarran International Airport, said that the recent agreement will allow the increase of seats to one of Mexicans favorite destinations: “We are very pleased that Interjet offers seventeen weekly flights to Las Vegas from three different cities in Mexico, including the newly operated flight from Mexico City International Airport”.
The newly launched daily flight from Mexico City will leave from Mexico City International Airport at 9:50 in the morning to land at 11:45 local Las Vegas time in McCarran International Airport, while the return flight leaves at 13:00 local Las Vegas time to land at 18:40 in the afternoon in Mexico City.
