In a turn of events, after leaving the Reclusorio Oriente detention center in Mexico City, Guillermo Padrés Dagnino, the son of the ex-governor of Sonora, was arrested by agents of Attorney's General Office.
Federal sources confirmed to EL UNIVERSAL that agents of the Criminal Investigation Agency carried out an arrest warrant issued by a federal judge on charges of organized crime and use of illegally acquired funds.
The son of the ex-governor, who had been on the run since October after being charged with corruption, extortion and embezzlement, joined his father together with his mother and siblings today in a show of support.
