Cross-border drug tunnel found between Tijuana and San Diego
U.S. authorities confirmed the discovery of a cross-border tunnel between Tijuana and San Diego, in addition to several tons of drugs. However, no arrests have been reported yet.
The tunnel was found in a building in Otay Mesa, California, and on the Mexican side, it stretched all the way to a business in Tijuana near the city's international airport.
A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security confirmed the finding of the cross-border tunnel and said they're unable to reveal if anyone has been arrested due to the ongoing investigation.
Early reports indicate that the tunnel on the Mexican side was built in an “ice” store just feet away from the Federal Police's headquarters.
