Investigators with the State of Mexico's Attorney's General Office arrested Juan Cristian Hernández Fragoso, known as “El Alfalfa”, who was wanted for homicide and is the 16th most wanted fugitive in the State of Mexico.
According to information released by the state prosecutor, there is proof that Hernández Fragoso was involved in the criminal group led by Óscar Oswaldo García Montoya, who was arrested back in August 2011.
Hernández Fragoso was arrested in Mexico City's Coyoacán municipality, where the suspect is believed to have lived.
The suspect was the ringleader behind a criminal group that operates out of the Cuautitlán Izcalli region. However, he sought refuge in Mexico City, outside of the State of Mexico's jurisdiction, and had been reported as missing.
The suspect is currently being held at a state penitentiary in Almoloya de Juárez and awaiting trial.
