Mexican airlines Aeroméxico and Interjet have banned passengers from traveling with their Galaxy Note 7 smart phones.
In a press release, Aeroméxico says that in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation's instructions and information released by the company Samsung, “Galaxy Note7 has been banned on all flights; no passenger can carry one on flight or store it in luggage for check-in.”
“As per international law, as well as the phone's manufacturer, Samsung, we inform all of our customers that the cell phone Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been banned from all of our flights,” said Interjet.
Samsung Electronics detected a problem in the Galaxy Note 7's battery cells, and therefore launched a global voluntary recall on September 30, which included Mexico.
