A21 supporters march against human trafficking in Mexico City

The A21 organization, which fights to end human trafficking and sexual slavery around the world, organized a walk from Revolución monument to Ángel de la Independencia roundabout in Mexico City, as part of a global protest that took place in three hundred cities from forty countries such as Argentina, Bulgaria, Spain, Norway and France, among others.

Protesters marched following a single line, with their mouths covered with black tape in the form of a cross, and displayed signs that demanded a resolute intervention from the Mexican government to end with these crimes.

Activist Rosi Orozco, president of the Commission United Against Human Trafficking, asked the Constituent Congress of Mexico City not to validate prostitution as a recognized profession, as this would make it more difficult to rescue victims of sexual exploitation and thus complicate the punishment of human traffickers.

Similar demonstrations took place in Mexico in cities like Guadalajara in Jalisco, Morelia in Michoacán and Ixtapaluca municipality in Mexico City, among others.
