Thousands gather in Zócalo to see Roger Waters

Thousands queue up for hours around Mexico City’s Zócalo, where ex-Pink Floyd’s frontman Roger Waters will offer a free concert later today, to wrap-up his recent shows in the country.

Waters came out to the stage to greet his fans in a fully-packed Zócalo, as a preview to his concert today at night.

At around eight o´clock he will play themes from classic albums like:"The Wall", "Animals", "Wish You Were Here" and "Dark Side of the Moon", as he did earlier this week in Foro Sol, Mexico City, where he performed for over 100,000 people for two nights in a row.

The 73-year-old bassist lambasted against Republican nominee to the U.S. Presidency, Donald Trump, for his intention to build a wall along de Mexican-American border and urged Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to “listen to his people” and to answer for the thousands of people missing in the country since the beginning of his presidency in 2012.

The British artist also used his visit to present the documentary "The Occupation of the American Mind", in which he lended his voice as a narrator, during a brief event held at the Cineteca Nacional. Waters denounced that the film directed by Loretta Alper and Jeremy Earp has been subject of censorship by the U.S. media.

After his show in Mexico City’s Zócalo, Waters is headed to the Desert Trip Festival 2016 in California which will bring together rock legends such as The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and McCartney for the next two weekends.
