
Archbishop of Morelia Alberto Suárez confirmed the killing of priest José Alfredo López Guillén, who was reported as kidnapped on September 22.
The body of the priest was found on a highway between Puruándiro and Zináparo, in the state of Michoacán.
According to autopsy results, gunshot wounds were the cause of death, and also suggested the priest was killed five days before his body was found.
The State Attorney General´s office said that no ransom calls were made to the relatives of the priest.
Last week two other priests, Alejo Jiménez and José Juárez, were kidnapped violently from their church in the city of Poza Rica, in the state of Veracruz and found dead.
