A priest from Puruándiro, Michoacán who was reported as kidnapped is allegedly seen in surveillance footage entering a hotel with a minor, reports the news agency Quadratín.
The news agency released stills from the video where both the priest and the minor can be seen entering a building on Monday, September 19, at 12:39 pm, reports Quadratín Michoacán.
The Archdiocese of Morelia, Alberto Suárez Inda, reported Priest José Alfredo López Guillén as having been kidnapped on Monday.
Michoacán Governor, Silvano Aureoles, reported that the priest was seen accompanied by a 16-year-old boy, and has not been seen since.
Quadratín then released a series of imagines and reported that the priest is with a minor entering a hotel, but didn't mention the name of the hotel.
Quadratín added that the priest's car, which was reported as stolen, can also be seen in the video, and that the priest checked into the hotel on Sunday, one day prior to being reported as kidnapped.
In light of this new breakthrough in the case, state and federal police forces have launched an operation in search of the priest's whereabouts.
