Mexican climbers suffer accident in Peru

Relatives of Carlos Belkotosky, identified as one of the Mexican climbers who suffered an accident on the Huascará mountain in Peru, confirmed his death on social networks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not officially confirmed the identity of the three Mexicans who were on the mountain.

"Our staff has not been able to contact the relatives of two of the three Mexicans who were in the expedition," the ministry said in a statement.

Foreign Affairs Minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu said that the Embassy of Mexico in Peru is providing assistance to the families of the victims.
