After presenting her credentials to President Enrique Peña Nieto on Monday, the new U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Roberta Jacobson regretted the deadly clash in Nochixtlán, Oaxaca occurred on Sunday.
At a press conference in the National Palace, the diplomat said that the conflict is an issue that must be resolved by Mexicans and expressed confidence that it can be done peacefully.
"About the violence in Oaxaca, I want to say that we regret the loss of life in this kind of situations," Jacobson said.
“We hope that this conflict can be peacefully resolved, without any further loss of life or injuries.” She said.
