Formal prison for alleged pedophile in Mexico

A court in Mexico City issued a formal prison order against Leopoldo Rafael Duarte Pereda, accused of sexual abuse against at least three minors in the Montessori Matatena kindergarten.

The accused is the husband of the school owner and the authorities found enough evidence against him to order his imprisonment.

The defense of Duarte Perea tried to explain that the high levels of fear presented by the victimized children, as well as other indicators, are not factual signs of abuse, but Judge Javier Ramírez Hernández dismissed their evidence.

Due to the serious nature of the crime, the judge notified the accused that he has no right for bail and ordered the start of the process against him.
