The Office of the Attorney General is investigating the real identity of Rosa Isela Guzmán Ortiz, presented in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian as the daughter of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, in order to respond for the denounces she made.
Gustavo Salas Chávez, prosecutor for the Office for Special Investigations on Organized Crime (SEIDO), added that the authorities have requested the assistance of the United States' justice system in order to local Rosa Isela Guzmán Ortiz and corroborate her statements.
Salas Chávez added that the authorities must investigate any possible crimes, like those denounced by Guzmán Ortiz, who said that her father is behind the financing for a series of political campaigns.
José Manuel Merino Madrid, General Director for International Procedures, also pointed out that "El Chapo" has not requested the acceleration of his extradition to the U.S., as his lawyer suggested recently.
