Mexico defeats Puerto Rico 8-4 in the Caribbean Series

Mexico is still rolling with no defeats on the Caribbean Series 2016 in the Dominican Republic, after defeating the Puerto Rican team by a score of 8-4.

Jesús Barraza tolerated only one score to get the victory, while Efraín Nieves more than earned the defeat with six earned runs.

The Mexican barrage began on the third inning, when Pineda singled to center and León scored.

In the fourth, Ortiz tied the score when he singled to left center and Rivera scored, with Ramos going to second, stealing the base in the same episode.

Things remained like that until the seventh, when Greene reached on bunt single to third, and Pineda scored.

In the eight, Hankerd doubled to deep center, Vázquez and Valle scored, and Juárez went to third.

Then Urias doubled to right, and Juárez and Quiroz. The barrage continued when Pineda doubled to right center, and Urias scored, and before Puerto Rico realized what was going on, Greene doubled to deep left and Pineda scored.

Soto reacted and tried to save Puerto Rico, with a home run to the left, going deep for 386 feet. He repeated the feat grounding for a double play, third to second to first, and Lozada scored, leaving Valentín out at second and Silva to third.

But it was too late for Puerto Rico.

The game lasted for 3:40 hours. The umpires were Juan Díaz on Home, Jonathan Parra on first base, Domingo Polanco on the second and Robert Moreno on third.
