The Attorney General of the State of Monterrey (PGJE) reported the imprisonment of four former officers from the Topo Chico prison, due to their alleged responsibility on the February 11 riots, which left around 50 people killed.
Gregoria Salazar Robles, former director of the prison, and Jesús Fernando Domínguez Jaramillo, former head of the prison administration agency, are accused of homicide and abuse of authority.
The head of the PGJE, Roberto Flores, reported that they were put under preventive prison at the request of the prosecutor.
In addition to the two officers, former deputy warden Arturo Bernal González and custodian José Reyes Hernández Aguilar were also taken to prison for their involvement in the riot, which ended with 49 dead and 12 injured.
