No corpses were burned at Cocula dump: experts

The Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights said that based on satellite images and a meteorological study, between September 26 and 27, 2014 it rained in Iguala and there was no fire at Cocula dump.

At a press conference, Alejandro Valencia, Carlos Beristain and Ángela Buitrago, members of the group of experts, said that they will send written questions to authorities so that the 27th Infantry Battalion is further interrogated. They added that if they are not present in the interrogatory, they will not be able to “evaluate the quality of the information."

Last year authorities said that the 43 missing students of Ayotzinapa, last seen in September 2014, were abducted and handed over to the criminal organization Guerreros Unidos, that killed them and burned their corpses at Cocula dump.

The experts explained that even though there was a fire in Guerrero on that date, it did not happen at Cocula dump.
