The National Weather Service (SMN) expects that depression 22-E in the Pacific Ocean will transform into a hurricane by the middle of this week.

In its latest report, the SMN reported that the tropical cyclone, some 510 miles south-southwest of Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, and 560 miles south of Manzanillo, will become a tropical storm during the early morning hours of Tuesday and that by the next day afternoon it will be a category one hurricane.

The hurricane will be named "Sandra".
