Officers from the Office of the Attorney General of Mexico City rescued 27 victims of human trafficking and detained six alleged perpetrators of sexual slavery in the district of Cuauhtémoc.
The Attorney for crimes of Human Trafficking, Juana Camila Bautista Rebollar, reported that the alleged perpetrators were arrested thanks to a citizen complaint.
The detainees were identified as Jaqueline Cruz Mendoza, Paula Cruz Antunez, Salvador Remigio Torres, Ricardo Gutiérrez Morales, Arturo Castillo Toledo and Emmanuel López Elizalde.
Torres was responsible for recruiting the victims and determined how much would they charge for their services, receiving only a minimum of the money they got.
The other detainees were in charge of the place where the victims provided their services, with the men keeping security.
The authorities provided the victims with medical and psychological aid and took the suspects to the state prisons of Reclusorio Norte and the female jail of Santa Martha Acatitla.
