The eye of hurricane Patricia is expected to fall over Playa Perula and Bahía Manzanilla, southern Jalisco, at 6:00 p.m. approximately, according to the National Weather Service (SMN).
The service, an agency from the National Water Commission (Conagua), informed on a press release that the storm is 34.7 miles south-southwest of the coast of Jalisco.
The hurricane is also 59 miles west of Manzanillo, Colima, and 108 miles south-southeast of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, with maximum sustained winds of 189 miles per hour and gusts up to 236mph.
Through Twitter, Coangua reported that the diameter of the eye of the hurricane, which exceeds category five, reaches up to 5.6 miles.
An increase in the wave height, up to 18 to 24 feet, is expected in the coasts of Michoacán, Colima, and southern Jalisco. The height will increase as the storm gets near.
