The Minister of the Interior, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, stated that on instructions from President Enrique Peña Nieto the report issued by the Group of Experts of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (GIEI) on the Ayotzinapa case will be analyzed and taken into account.
Through his Twitter account, @osoriochong, the man responsible for domestic policy wrote that "before the unfortunate events in Iguala, the Mexican State has maintained a full openness and a commitment to transparency".
Osorio Chong pointed that so far 110 suspects have been arrested, including the former mayor of Iguala, Guerrero. "There will be no impunity. It is a punishable offense for all the guilty".
In a subsequent message Osorio Chong reiterated that "we will continue to work so that Mexico will count as soon as possible with advanced laws regarding the search and disappearance of people".
