State of emergency in Sonora

The National Coordination of Civil Protection of the Ministry of the Interior issued a declaration of emergency for the municipalities of Hermosillo, Guaymas, Empalme, Rayón and San Miguel de Horcasitas in Sonora, as a consequence of the severe rains of the last few days.

With this action, the authorities will be able to activate the Emergency Care Fund (Fonden), according to a press release.

"On the basis of this declaration, requested by the state government, the authorities will have resources to meet the nutritional needs of shelter, and health of the affected population," expressed the release.
