The authorities of Mexico City announced the arrest of a man identified only as Daniel, a 41-year-old, for his probable involvement in  the killing of photojournalist Rubén Espinosa and four women, facing charges of feminicide, torture, homicide and robbery gang.

The suspect had previously been in jail, in 2000, for the crimes of robbery and rape.

The Office of the Attorney General of Mexico City also reiterated its commitment to solve the crime and "give certainty to the families of those affected and to the people in the capital city in general."
