Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, said that she can not give up her crown because she signed a contract that can not be canceled, and added that it makes no sense that Donald Trump calls her "hypocrite".
"It's not as easy as giving up, I signed a contract," said the Colombian to W Radio after Trump published on Twitter "Paulina Vega criticized me for telling the truth about illegal immigration, but then said she would keep the crown-Hypocrite."
However, Vega reiterated that she disagrees with Trump's comments about Mexican immigrants, that she considers "unfair and hurtful".
"Miss Universe has existed before this gentleman (Trump) owned the pageant and will continue to exist when he leaves. I will not change everything that is happening in my life just because of a presidential campaign," she explained.
She added that she has a "direct relationship" with Trump and knows that he "does not like to look like he lost."
"The important thing is that people in Latin America is with me and knows that all my opinions are true," Vega said.
When Trump announced his presidential bid last month, he criticized Mexico and immigrants who come to the U.S. illegally. "They're bringing drugs," he said. "They're bringing crime. They're rapists."
