The government of Mexico City reported that the blueprints of the Male Penitentiary Security Center No. 1 (Cevasep-I) do not "compromise the security," of the prison because they do not correspond to its final project.
The authorities indicated that "the stolen blueprints correspond to an initial project conducted by the past administration. The building company reiterated that the security of the prisons is not compromised because the final blueprints have been modified in an 80%."
The Department of Government indicated on a press release that on June 1 a truck with the computer containing the blueprints was stolen in the municipality of Ecatepec, in the State of Mexico.
It was initially reported that the heist was conducted in the offices of builder company Calidad de Vida, Progreso y Desarrollo para la Ciudad de Mexico and that a laptop and blueprints were the only things stolen.
