Three Mexican teens were winners in the competition "Mars Trekker Global Teen Summit" at the NASA's Space Center in Houston.
Twenty Mexican students aged 13 to 17 participated along with 100 other youth in competitions of robotics, 3D design tools and possible human habitats in Mars.
The winners, all of them from Tlaxcala, were Javier Rivera Monter, 15, who participated in the robotics competition; Fátima Paola Vargas, 16, design of space tools in 3D printing and Yanet Josefina Guevara Arenas, 16, space habitat design.
"The winners participate in an educational program of the Mexican Space Agency (AEM) in coordination with the Ministry of Education of Tlaxcala as well as in mathematics, astronomy, robotics and science clubs and other virtual activities of the NASA, guided by their local teacher, Marcos Núñez George," the AEM said.
